HOUSE WIRING WITH INVERTER CONNECTION

House wiring with Inverter:

In this article, we will have a look at the complete wiring of a house with main supply and inverter connections in a very interactive manner.

Let us suppose, we have a house as shown in below image and we wish to perform the complete wiring of the rooms with the inverter connections as well.

So, Lets Start

We all know that the main supply of the in our homes comes from Wapda “Electric Supply Company in Pakistan” from the poles into the meter as shown below’

After the meter, we have a distribution board which includes double pole MCB, RCB, and several single pole MCBs (Miniature circuit breaker) for each room as shown below.

Now we have two wires phase and neutral; for phase we will use the breakers and for neutral we will transfer it directly, for that we use a neutral bus bar and for each room we use the distribution board, one for each room so, three distribution boards in total. Each room will have one fan and two LED lights except the corridor and the washroom they both will have only one light. You can increase the number of elements installed in the room according to that you just have to increase the number of sockets in the distribution board as shown below.

Now we will place the inverter and the battery in the corridor and will start our conncetions.

First of all, we will take the phase and neutral supply from the wapda into the meter and from the meter into the double pole main mcb, from the main mcb we will take the Supply ( Ground & Phase)  and  give it to the RCB.After that we will take the ground wire from the Rcb into the bus bar  and phase wire from RCB to the first four single pole MCB. Also the last MCB is for the inverter protection so we will leave that for now as shown in below figure.

Now for the inverter main connection, we have the battery side where inverter +ve is connected to the battery +ve terminal & inverter -ve is connected to the battery -ve terminal. Then we need two plugs one for the main supply to turn the inverter ON through the distribution board for charging the battery  and the second for the connections of inverter. Throughout the wiring, we take only one wire from the input that is the phase wire which is used for powering the load (fans) when there is no Wapda and will use battery for backup. The neutral from the bus bar can be used so we need only one wire from the inverter as shown.

Now for the distribution board we need to take two types of supply one is the main supply and the other is inverter supply.

First of all, let do the main supply wiring we will connect one bulb and the socket in each room with the phase wire from each of the specific MCB. Firstly, we will take the wire into the switch and from the other end we will take the phase wire into the blub which will enable us to control the bulb using the phase of main supply. Now, loop the same phase and give it to one end of the switch and take the wire from the other end into the socket which will make us able to control the socket through the switch as done for the bulb. We can install multiple elements in the same way which means three blubs and two power sockets.
In a similar way, we will repeat the method for the distribution of the phase wire into all other rooms and the corridor as shown below.

Now so far we have connected the one blub and power socket to the main supply for each room in the house from the single MCB so that if any fault occur in any room that MCB trip and the load remain in safe sound condition. For the inverter side, we can also use multiple MCBs as per your choice which will increase the cost a little but will provide more protection to your home. For now, we will use for one MCB and take the wire from the output end of the MCB and loop the wire into every room and corridor and washroom so that we can take the connections from the inverter to the fans and the bulbs that we wish to operate on the inverter. Firstly, we will take the wire into the switch and from the other end we will take the phase wire into the blub which will enable us to control the bulb using the phase of the inverter supply. Now loop the same phase and give it to one end of the fan regulator and take the wire from the other end into the regulator in the fan which will make us able to control the fan through the switch as done for the bulb using the inverter supply.

Repeat the process for each room, corridor and washroom bulbs as shown below.

Now as phase wire is distributed successfully here comes the neutral wire.

We will take a neutral wire from the bus bar and take that wire into our room one from where we will give it individually to each equipment for each blub and fan and even the power socket the complete connection as shown below.

House wiring with inverter

Repeat the connection for all the rooms, corridors, and washroom. The connection for the room will remain the same just the number of wires will increase on increasing the number of elements in the room.

The point to be noted that the neutral wire is same for both the inverter and the main supply and the reason is that the neutral wire is same through out the wiring we are using single wire inverter wiring that includes only inverter phase wiring so we can use one neutral wire for both the load connected/supplied through the inverter and the main supply as shown below.

So far, we have done the complete wiring for our house; now its time for earthing connection we will take the wire from the bus bar of the earthing and distribute the wire into the each room and give it to the main power plug of the distribution board that has the upper terminal for the earth cable.

Congratulation you are successfully done with the wiring for your House.
