MediaTek Helio G90:

Over the last few years, MediaTek is leading in the mobiles chip market, but in 2020 the company has gone so far with the record-breaking new chipsets. We’ve seen some amazing chipsets like MediaTek Dimensity 1000, MediaTek Dimensity 9000 which tops the antutu 9 benchmarks, and MediaTek Dimensity 1100 which was launched in Foco X3 GT, and many more smartphones. Now we have the full specs and full complete details of the MediaTek Helio G90, let’s start off with the benchmarks

AnTuTu 9:

CPU 94940
GPU 92912
Memory 57919
UX 94897
Total score 341122

MediaTek Helio G90 shows the best Antutu 9 scores. We can see the big jump in the GPU performance. The total performance of the GPU is 92912, which is slower than the Snapdragon 695. The CPU also shows one of the best scores. It is 94940 which is a bit slower than the Snapdragon 695. The memory scores also show a significant boost. Helio G90 memory is faster than Snapdragon 680, and Snapdragon 678. The Ux is also showing one of the best performances. It is 94897, which is faster than Snapdragon 680, and Snapdragon 678G. MediaTek Helio G90 total scores are above 341122. It will depend on which smartphones manufacturers using this chipset with which type of ram. MediaTek Helio G90 is considerably gaining a performance boost and beating every processor in the Mid-rand category.

Geekbench 5:

Single-Core Score 511
Multi-Core Score 1639

The single-core scores show the best performance in this smartphone mid-range category lineup. The single cores scores are 511. And the multi-core scores are 1639 which is also good at this point.

CPU:

Architecture 2x 2 GHz – Cortex-A76
6x 2 GHz – Cortex-A55
Cores 8
Frequency 2000 MHz
Instruction set ARMv8.2-A
Process 12 nanometers
TDP 5 W

MediaTek Helio G90 launched with the Big 2 cores of Cortex-A76 which are ultra-high performance cores that are clocked on 2.0 GHz. The other 6 cores is based on Cortex-A55 which is a power efficiency core. There is a little disappointment that why they haven’t used the Cortex X1 or X2. But the Cortex-A76 also has the best speeds and good set instruction architecture. There are a total of 8 cores with a boost clock of 2.0 GHz. Helio G90 has the latest set instruction architecture. It is not considered fast but it is strong enough to beat some of the latest and most powerful Chipsets. MediaTek Helio G90 is fabricated on 12Nm. This means MediaTek Helio G90 will be not power efficient and will consume more battery and will produce more heat. The TDP shows 5 watts.

Graphics:

GPU name Mali-G76 MC4
Architecture Bifrost
GPU frequency 720 MHz
Execution units 4
Shading units 64
FLOPS 172.0 Gigaflops
Vulkan version 1.1
OpenCL version 2.0
DirectX version 12

MediaTek Helio G90 has new architecture based GPU. Bifrost is the new architecture that they are using in the Helio G90. The GPU is also manufactured using the 12Nm technology. Which means it will also be power efficient. The name of the GPU is Mali-G76 MC4. This is the fastest GPU in this lineup. The Helio G90 is fast enough to handle games like FREE FIRE, and PUBG MOBILE. The GPU score is faster than the MediaTek Helio G90 which means there will be a smooth gaming experience on this chipset. The GPU is clocked on 720MHz. The shading units are also 64 which will help in rendering the graphics in gaming. There is also DirectX support of 12 which means this processor will support the latest games without any bugs and delays.

Memory:

Memory type LPDDR4X
Memory frequency 2133 MHz
Bus 2x 32 Bit
Max size 10 GB

MediaTek Helio G90 uses the new LPDDR4x ram with the memory frequency of 2133MHz and uses the bus of 2×32. The ram may be changed according to the smartphone manufacturers, like XIAOMI, REALME, VIVO, etc. The memory frequency is also going to be changed according to the smartphones manufacturers. The max memory bandwidth is 14.9Gbit/s which is also faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 which was used in Realme 9. The max memory size is 10GB.

Support:

Neural processor (NPU) Da Vinci
Storage type eMMC 5.1, UFS 2.1
Max display resolution 2520 x 1080
Max camera resolution 1x 64MP, 2x 24MP
Video capture 4K at 30FPS
Video playback 4K at 30FPS

MediaTek Helio G90 uses the Da Vinci which is fast with the AI calculations. MediaTek Helio G90 uses the UFS 3.1 which is fast. This gives you fast read and writing speeds.

MediaTek Helio G90 has the maximum display support of FullHD+ and can support the 120Hz refresh rate with the super Amoled. Helio G90 is going to be very aggressive when it comes to camera support. It supports a camera up to 64MP. The video capture is kept on 4k at 30FPS and the video playback is also 4k at 30FPS. There is no 4K 60Fps support on this MediaTek Helio G90. Which is a bit of a shame to see there is no 4K 60Fps support on a 2022 mid-range Chipset.

Connectivity:

5G support No
Wi-Fi 5
Bluetooth 5.0

MediaTek Helio G90 has no 5G support. The Helio G90 also comes with the wi-fi 5 and the Bluetooth version of 5.0. This will give you better signals and better speeds. MediaTek Helio G90 uses its own modem. It is not fast as the X25 but it gives you good speeds.

Smartphones

Infinix Zero 8
Realme 6i

MediaTek Helio G90 is launched in these 2 smartphones. As you can see these 2 smartphone scores are different. Infinix Zero 8 is at the top. Which is a considerably great phone with this chipset.

Gaming Experience:

PUBG Mobile 58 FPS
[Low]
Call of Duty: Mobile 60 FPS
[High]
Fortnite 27 FPS
[High]
Shadowgun Legends 68 FPS
[Ultra]
World of Tanks Blitz 83 FPS
[Ultra]
Genshin Impact 48 FPS
[Ultra]
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang 60 FPS
[Ultra]
Device Infinix Zero 8
1080 x 2400

The gaming experience on this chipset is going to be a little faster than the MediaTek Helio G90. This chipset is combined with the 2 Big A76 cores which boosts the performance. With 2 big Cortex A-76 cores, there are also going to be a few issues with heating. The frequency of this chipset is 2.0 GHz, which is good for long-term gaming. This chipset also support the LPDDR4x ram. This means there will be no issues with using this chipset in a long-term gaming session. This chipset also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. This will help in smooth performance with low latency. This chipset is can support PUBG MOBILE at 60FPS, this is because of the scores of the GPU.
