Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GameRock OC Complete review with benchmarks

Introduction:

Palit launched the GeForce RTX 3090 GameRock OC edition GPU, which we reviewed today. GeForce RTX 3090 was going to be upgraded to The ‘Ti’ edition. Which was been in the works for quite some time. This (Ti) flagship series has been upgraded, with more shaders, quicker memory, and higher TGP from 450 to 500 Watt. This GPU has 24 GB of the fastest GDDR6X RAM money can buy.

This GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is the first GPU to include 2 GB of GDDR6X memory chips that has an effective 21 Gbps data transmission rate. Moreover, it will have a new 16-pin standardized power connector. Users should upgrade their power supplies over 1200W because this GPU itself eats 450W alone, so we’re slowly getting back to 1200W supplies when combined with other high-end desktop Hardware.

Review:

This GPU takes a cameo appearance at CES 2021 for maximum impact – much like Iron man at his expo in Iron man 2– This GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is finally available to customers as with other GPUs of this Ampere Architecture. As expected, This GPU is a bit of a beast in many ways more than one.

As previously, RTX 3090 Ti gets the full power of the Ampere GA102 architecture by taking the full complement of 10,752 cores operating at a boost 1.86GHz, compared to regular RTX 3090’s 1.70GHz. Whilst the floorplan remains otherwise the same as the big little brother of this GPU, in this GPU Nvidia also boosts the 24GB GDDR6X memory speed which increases the speeds of this GPU to 21Gbps from 19.5Gbps.

These minor changes make this GPU arguably the fastest gaming card to date, though the decision to eke out the best performance from the Ampere architecture, results in power consumption significantly increasing from 350W to 450W and can take further more power when overclocked.

This time Nvidia hasn’t made base Founders Edition cards available to review websites, so all we have to go on is a glut of partner-built solutions to review these GPUs. Nvidia’s latest GPUs are Most air-cooled models, that require triple or even quad-slot designs to get the better heat management and, to effectively flow away from the surplus heat, in this GPU Nvidia feature either a dual or a trio of conventional 8-pin or new 16-pin PCIe 5-optimized connectors which supports up-to 600W. To expect the in-game frequency to scale beyond 2GHz for the best-overclocked offerings.

Putting it all together by comparing high-end cards like RTX 3090, and AMD RX 6900XT, ComputerBase has found that the Asus GeForce RTX 3090 Ti TUF OC benchmarks a mere 1.2 per cent faster than regular RTX 3090 Founders Edition and, 6.4 per cent faster than an Asus GeForce RTX 3090 Strix when evaluated at a native 4K resolution. That’s not much difference at all, of course, especially as the latter pair were released in September 2020.

By pushing the primary GA102 architecture to its limit, this GPU frame rates stroll is attended by a 32% increase, thus consume more power, in power consumption observes, TechPowerup. Pricing is also out of linear whack, because this GPU cost 33% more than the non-Ti model, or this card costing $1,999 and the non TI model is costing $1599.

We’d risk Nvidia has released GeForce RTX 3090 Ti to prevent the emerging threat posed by higher-clocked versions of AMD RX 6000 series of another series of graphics cards, especially the Radeon RX 6950 XT.

Based on these amazing results, and with due consideration paid to power and performance, and cooling, our advice is to consider RTX 3090 Ti the best buy if you need absolutely the best of the best gaming PC in the first half of this year.

Further Explanation:

Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GameRock OC desktop GPU, which was released in 2022. The card is based on Ampere architecture. It is manufactured using 8 nm technological process. The Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GameRock OC graphics card runs at 1670 MHz, and can be boosted as 1860 MHz. Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GameRock OC has 10752 CUDA cores, 96 ROPs, and 272 texture units. The Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GameRock OC has 24 GB of GDDR6X memory. And clocked at 1219 MHz it has a 384-Bit wide memory Bandwidth, which gives 1008 GB/s memory bandwidth. The GPU has PCI Express 4.0 interface. Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GameRock OC requires 3 to 4 motherboard slots. Palit GeForce RTX 3090 Ti GameRock OC has the maximum power draw of 460 Watt.

Pros:

  • 10752 Cuda cores
  • Excellent cooling
  • Low noise
  • Fastest ray tracing
  • Premium build

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • 450W power hungry
  • Takes 4 slots

This GPU is the fastest GPU on this planet right now, no other GPUs can beat this GPU in terms of performance. There are some advantages and some disadvantages. Like you got 10752 Cuda cores with the fastest frequency of 1860MHz. This GPU packs with the GDDR6X 24GB of memory. Which is consider to be the faster than its predecessor RTX 3090. There are a few disadvantages which are, the power consumption. This GPU is so power hungry, and consume up to 450W of power. The size of this GPU is also bigger than other GPUs, I mean many PC cases will not support this GPU because of its size. You will need a specific type of PC case to put this GPU in.

Final Thoughts:

Palit does a good job in taming the full power of Ampere GA102. GameRock OC’s cooler is big, bold and capable enough to reduce in noise and temperature to some cool levels, though the absolute amount of RGB in the GPU cooler, makes it a little more convenient and little beast like GPU. This GPU price started at £2,000. And within days this GPU was out of stock and still is. The main concern is relative value, which applies to all RTX 3090 Ti cards, regardless of manufacturer.

GeForce RTX 3090 Ti’s is world’s fastest selling consumer graphics card. Sole job is to claim the title of it. The price is great at this point, relying on its values of performance. But if you are gaming at 1080P and you want to upgrade your GPU than, I will suggest to go for a GPU under $1000. This GPU is beast when it comes to 1080P gaming, so make sure to have an 8K or a 4K monitor to get the most out of this GPU.

Performance is about 10% faster than the (non-Ti) and way more ahead from Radeon RX 6900 XT. When checked over a High range of games and engines like Blender, Adobe premire pro, adobe after effects, and games like, Call of Duty Warzone, Elden Ring, Crysis,  etc. The GPU takes 460W, which is the highest we’ve ever seen on a consumer card.
