The display of the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is a good upgrade from the last-gen Samsung Galaxy A52 5G. This smartphone has one of the most amazing displays on the 2022 mid-range phone. Its Super AMOLED, 6.5 inches, 120Hz, HDR10+, and 1200 nits (peak) brightness display.  It is also Full HD+ with a PPI density of 411. Which makes it powerful, more colorful, and more efficient than the last Gen Samsung Galaxy A32. The gaming experience is going to be good because of its 120Hz display and also the content watching will be brighter. Thanks to DCIP3 technology. There will be no issues using this display outside because of this 1200 nit’s brightness. Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is using the Super AMOLED panel. Which is good that can save more battery. The display is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Which is strong enough to protect the phone. The display features always-on display. The display is fast and power-efficient. Comparing this display with its last-gen Samsung Galaxy A52 5G it’s a considerably good upgrade. Thanks, Samsung.

There is also IP67 water and dust resistance. Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is a quite good mid-range phone. In this Samsung Galaxy A53 5G, we got to see the better design and the better back. Talking about the design, the Camera bump is quite a good place. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G comes with new features in the display in their own custom ONE UI 4.0. The fingerprint scanner is located on the home button. Which is fast and can be more accurate than the in-display fingerprint scanner. I personally like the in-home button fingerprint scanner.

It also makes the smartphone experience much smoother. The gaming experience is also going to be good thanks to its optimization. Thanks to a Super AMOLED display and 90 Hertz refresh rate with the Samsung Exynos 1280. The Mali-G68 is one of the most powerful GPUs in a mid-range phone, which makes the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G more powerful than the last-gen Samsung Galaxy A32 5G. You can play PUBG Mobile at a high frame rate thanks to the two big cores of Cortex A78. The two big cores of Cortex A78 are clocked on 2.4GHz which is fast for a mid-range chipset. This chipset is fabricated using 5NM which will help to save battery and produce less heat. The GPU clock is 1000MHz which is fast. I already made an article on this chipset.

MEMORY AND STORAGE:

RAM size 6, 8 GB
Memory type LPDDR4X

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G comes with two variants of ram 6GB and 8GB Ram that’s amazing giving 8GB of ram with the Samsung Exynos 1280. The ram is based on LPDDR4x which is clocked on 2133MHz, the ram is 2 channels. Which is not fast as the 4 channel but still strong enough. There are also two storage options. The based one is 128GB and the high variant has 256GB of storage. This is a mid-range phone so there is also SD card support on this Samsung Galaxy A53 5G. The storage is based on UFS 2.2 which is the fastest in mid-range phones. The SD card support is up to 1024GB. You can insert 512GB of SD card on this Samsung Galaxy A53 5G.  The combination of LPDDR4x ram with the UFS 2.2 based storage is quite good with the Samsung Exynos 1280 chipset.

The Samsung Exynos 1280 have good CPU scores in the Geekbach 5. The single-core score is 743. This is quite impressive when it comes to single-core performance also the multi-core which is 1899. Which is a lot faster than the MediaTek Dimensity 800. The single-core performance is good. This means the application opening will be faster and quicker. The multi-core scores are also good. 4K video recording Up to 30FPS
1080p video recording Up to 60FPS
Angle of widest lens 123°
Lenses 4 (64 MP + 12 MP + 5 MP + 5 MP)

Now let’s talk about the Camera. Samsung Galaxy A53 5G comes with a Quad Camera setup. The main camera is 64 megapixel F/1.8. There is no telephoto lens. There is an ultra-wide lens of 8megapixels as well. The main camera is 64MP which means the photos will contain more details. There is only 4K at 30 FPS. The videos will contain more details and will be sharper thanks to its chipset. There is optical image stabilization on the main lens. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G. Also supported the slow-motion 1080p at 120FPS. This is the same sensor that was used in many midrange smartphones. This sensor is sharp and big. That collects more light at night thus taking good shots at night time. This sensor was also used in the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G. The angel view of the ultra-wide is 123 degrees. Which is wide enough to take good shots. Now let’s talk about the lenses in detail. There is no 8K support or the 4K at 60 FPS.

Lenses:

Wide (main) lens – 64 MP
– Aperture: f/1.8
– Focal length: 26 mm
-Sony IMX 682/686
– Pixel size: 0.8 micron
– Phase autofocus
– Optical stabilization
Ultra-wide lens – 12 MP
– Aperture: f/2.2
– Focal length: 13 mm
-Sony IMX 386
– Pixel size: 1.12 micron
– Sensor: 1/4.0″ (CMOS)
Macro lens – 5 MP
– Aperture: f/2.4
Depth lens – 5 MP
– Aperture: f/2.4
Camera features – Bokeh mode
– Pro mode

The main sensor is 1015MP. Which is Sony IMX 682. Sony IMX 682 sensor can be seen in a lot of smartphones in the midrange category like Realme Gt master edition, Poco X3, realme 8, etc. The main camera saves 12-megapixel images by default. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G also has a depth sensor like the flagships model does, portraits are excellent with detailed and sharp subjects and good separation. This sensor is brighter and big. Thanks to the aperture f/1.8. This sensor can take stronger portrait shots and can take great shots at nighttime because it’s combined with a wider aperture. This sensor is very good at maintaining a good dynamic range in harsh conditions. This sensor is also good at taking very amazing portraits with strong bokeh and good depth of field. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G doesn’t turn night and day but can take best night shots. It is a 64MP sensor so, combining that with the great software can result in the best in smartphone photography. The autofocus in this camera sensor is incredibly fast. The sensor is a dual pixel. Overall the sensor is big, bright, and powerful. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G also has one of the best optical image stabilization. It is so smooth and can make the camera steady. It is not as steady as the flagship smartphone does, but it is nice to see optical image stabilization on a budget smartphone from Samsung.

There is also an ultra-wide lens of 12MP. Which is Sony IMX 386. This is also a great sensor considering its capabilities. The 12-megapixel ultra-wide photos are ok for this price range. But nothing great you get enough contrast and wide dynamic range but they come out soft with a low level of detail and the colors are a bit off. In harsh lighting conditions, this camera sensor suffers a lot because of its aperture which is only f/2.2. This sensor cannot take enough light to take good shots at night. The 12-megapixel ultra-wide photos taken at night time are not really usable.  They’re incredibly dark and noisy. Unlike the regular Samsung Galaxy A52 on the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G model, there’s no night mode for the ultra-wide cam you can force HDR to get a better result, and you will end up with less noise. In the video, this camera sensor has a little bit of noise. Which is very annoying. The sensor aperture is F/2.2 which can collect more light at night time thus can take average shots at night time with little noise.

There is also a 5MP macro lens 5MP and dept lens. Which is not used regularly. These camera sensors can take good shots with amazing details, amazing sharpness. The main lens also has optical image stabilization. Which is not as good as the flagship phones but still can do a good job while taking photos or making videos.

SELFIE CAMERA:

Megapixels 32 megapixels
Image resolution 6464 x 4864
Aperture f/2.2
Focal length 26 mm
Pixel size 0.8 microns
Sensor type CMOS
Sensor size 1/2.8″
Video resolution 2160p (4K) at 30 FPS

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G has a 32-megapixel Selfie Camera. The lens is quite big and can be seen in flagship devices. This lens is also considerably fast. The lens is also 26mm wide which means you can take wider selfies with a high dynamic range and with rich details. This sensor has also the ability to record in 4k at 30FPS which is also great. It’s also F/2.2. So, that makes it a little brighter at night time when the sensor is collecting light. There are 6464 x 4864 in this sensor. Which can contain more details with higher pixels.

Connectivity:

Wi-Fi standard Wi-Fi 5 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac)

USB version 2
NFC* Depends on the region
Infrared port No

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G comes with Wi-Fi 5 with the Bluetooth version of 5.1. Which contain average speeds and better coverage area. There is also an NFC port. Network:

Number of SIM* 2
Type of SIM card Nano
eSIM support* No
LTE Cat* 18
5G support Yes

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G also has 5G support with the best bandwidth. This smartphone also has the support of LTE Cat 18 which contains a lot of bandwidth which makes the download speeds and upload speeds faster. Samsung Galaxy A53 5G can support dual Sims at 5G. There is no Esim support. But we do get the Hybrid slot. The download and upload speeds are also great thanks to the latest modem of this Samsung Exynos 1280.

SOUND:

Speakers Stereo
Headphone audio jack No
Dolby Atmos Yes

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G doesn’t have a headphone jack. It’s a mid-Flagship smartphone so, it has Stereo speakers with Dolby atoms support. The speakers sound well. You can listen to music and can take calls with these speakers. It’s also supported by Dolby atmos which makes the sound experience on another level. The speaker has a nice amount of bass in the sound. You can feel the beat with the nice sound. There are two-speaker one at the bottom and another at the top. The top speaker is also used to take calls. The sound quality of the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is A+.

Colors:

Colors White, Black, Blue, Yellow

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G comes in 4 colors. There is White, Black, Blue and Yellow. I personally like the black color, because it gives a natural look to the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G. There is 4 colors available on this smartphone. But I know everyone is going to put a case on the back of the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G.

Final Thoughts:

Considering this phone for gaming and for daily usage then it’s a good option. Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is rich in specs. It has an amazing display with a new design with a bigger battery. The performance of this smartphone is also great thanks to the Samsung Exynos 1280. This processor contains big two cores of Cortex A78.
