Xiaomi Poco C40 has an amazing 6.71 inches IPS LCD, 60Hz display, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 1100 nits.  It is also HD+ with a PPI density of 268… The gaming experience is also going to be a little slow because of its 60Hz refresh rate, also the content watching will be good with deep blacks and high contrast ratio. Thanks to DCIP3 technology. Xiaomi Poco C40 is using the IPS LCD panel. Which is good and can deliver faster performance and can save more battery. The display is also protected by Gorilla Glass. Screen to body ratio is 82% which will give you thicker bezels. The display ratio is 20:9.

Xiaomi is known for its amazing new designs. Xiaomi Poco C40 has a new design with new textures on the back. The rear is made of Plastic and the frame is made of plastic which makes it a little lighter than other Budget smartphones. There’s IP52 water and dust resistance in this Xiaomi Poco C40. The phone is protected by a metal frame that’s why it makes it lighter by 204 grams. The fingerprint scanner it’s located rear and has some amazing speeds.

Performance:

Chipset JLQ JR510
Max. clock 2000 MHz

Xiaomi Poco C40 is launching a new chipset that we don’t know about it yet, but soon we will publish another article on this chipset.

MEMORY AND STORAGE:

RAM size 3, 4 GB
Memory type LPDDR4X
Channels 2
Storage size 32, 64 GB
Storage type UFS 2.2
Memory card MicroSD
Memory card max. size Up to 1024 GB

Xiaomi Poco C40 is launching with 2 variants of ram and 2 variants of storage which are 3. 4GB of ram and 32, 64GB of storage. And with the new chipset, the performance will be much smoother. The ram is LPDDR4 with a memory frequency of 1866MHz. Xiaomi Poco C40 has the fastest UFS 2.2 storage. Which will load the apps much faster. There is also SD card support, which can support SD cards up to 1024GB.

Benchmarks:

Antutu 9 Benchmarks

CPU 36431
GPU 22163
Memory 37186
UX 36684
Total score 133606

Xiaomi Tensor shows one of the slowest AnTuTu 9 scores. Total scores are 133606. These scores are so slow. I mean the POCO should’ve gone with the MediaTek helio G70, or with the Qualcomm snapdragon 662 or less. the CPU scores are so slow alongside the GPU, well it’s clearly not a gaming phone. But these scores are so much slower for a 2022 budget smartphone. Such a shame to see these kinds of slow performances of the latest smartphone from the POCO.

Software:

Operating system Android 11
ROM MIUI 13 for POCO

The Xiaomi Poco C40 is going to be launching with Android 11 straight out of the box. This new custom ROM is optimized well with new cool animations and wallpapers. This new MIUI 13 fixes old bugs like touch lags, camera app improvements, new layouts, improved dark mode, and a new gaming turbo engine. Xiaomi is known for its good software optimization with its new MIUI 13.

Battery:

Capacity 6000 mAh
Charge power 18 W
Battery type Li-Po
Replaceable No
Wireless charging No
Reverse charging No
Fast charging Yes

Xiaomi Poco C40 is going to launch with the 18 watts charger. Which can fully charge the 6000mAh in about 2 and half hours.. There is no wireless charging support. The charging speeds are so slow. Xiaomi Poco C40 is a full-day phone I mean this phone can last all day long.

MAIN CAMERA:

Matrix 13 megapixels
Zoom Digital
Flash LED
Stabilization Digital
8K video recording No
4K video recording No
1080p video recording Up to 30FPS
Slow motion No
Lenses 2 (13 MP + 2 MP)
Wide (main) lens – 13 MP
– Aperture: f/2.2
– Phase autofocus
Depth lens – 2 MP
– Aperture: f/2.4
– Pixel size: 1.75 micron
– Sensor: 1/5″, Omnivision OV02B10 (CMOS)
Camera features – Bokeh mode
– Pro mode

Xiaomi Poco C40 has 2 cameras at the back and the main camera is 13MP F/2.2. this is one of the worst camera sensor we have ever seen. It’s 13 MP that’s good but the aperture is so slow, I mean it’s only F/2.2 which will make the camera experience worse than ever. There is also another camera with a 2MP depth lens. There is no 4K recording support. Also, there is no 1080P 60FPS support. Also, there is no ultrawide camera. There is just a 13 MP main camera with a 2MP useless depth lens.

SELFIE CAMERA:

Megapixels 5 megapixels
Image resolution 2592 x 1944
Aperture f/2.2
Sensor type CMOS
Video resolution 1080p (Full HD) at 30 FPS

When it comes to selfie cameras the Xiaomi Poco C40 has a single punch whole camera of 5MP. Well, its lower in resolution. It can record 1080P at 30FPS, but it’s only 5MP so, the video is not going to be that crisp. This tiny little camera sensor is F/2.2, which is not the worse but it’s not good either.

Connectivity:

Wi-Fi standard Wi-Fi 5 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac)
Wi-Fi features – Dual Band
– Wi-Fi Direct
– Wi-Fi Hotspot
– Wi-Fi Display
Bluetooth version 5
Bluetooth features LE
USB type USB Type-C
USB version 2
USB features – Charging
– USB-Storage mode
GPS GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo
Infrared port Yes

This Xiaomi Poco C40 is launching with Wi-Fi 5. Which will make the user experience smoother and faster. There is also the support of Bluetooth 5.0. Xiaomi Poco C40 has USB type C gen 2 support. It also helps with data transfer because it helps with faster read and write speeds. Xiaomi Poco C40 also has NFC support which is also useful. You can pay, and transfer files at high speeds thanks to NFC support. This smartphone also has an infrared port.

SOUND:

Speakers Mono
Headphone audio jack Yes
FM radio Yes

The Xiaomi Poco C40 comes with a mono speaker. This Xiaomi Poco C40 has nice sound quality with a nice amount of bass in it. Video watching and hearing to music also going to be good. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Colors:

Colors Black, Green, Yellow

The Xiaomi Poco C40 is going to launch in three different colors. White, Black, and Green. Xiaomi is known for its premium colors with good context. I like the Black color because it looks better than these two colors.

Price:

This smartphone is costing around $200, I will neither do, nor recommend this smartphone because of the lack of high refresh rate, premium quality, slow chipset, and old design. Of course, there are more amazing smartphones than this one. So if you are considering buying a smartphone then you can check out my other articles on budget smartphones.

Final Thoughts:

This Xiaomi Poco C40 is not a bad phone, it has everything that a normal user needs. The camera is updated alongside the new software. The design is changed with new textures and with new colors. The chipset is updated alongside new optimizations. So if you can compromise with the higher refresh rate and high MP camera then it’s a good smartphone.

So, this was my full review of this Xiaomi Poco C40.
