MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Complete review with benchmarks


In today’s article, I am going to review MediaTek Dimensity 1200. I’m going to review its AnTuTu 9, CPU, Graphics, Memory, Multimedia, Connectivity, and gaming experience.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200:

Over the last few years, MediaTek is leading in the mobiles chip market, but in 2022 the company has gone so far with the record-breaking new chipsets. We’ve seen some amazing chipsets like MediaTek Dimensity 1100, MediaTek Dimensity 9000 that tops the AnTuTu 9 benchmarks, MediaTek Dimensity 700 that was launched in Redmi note 10 5G and many more smartphones. Now we have the full specs and full complete details of the MediaTek Dimensity 1200. Let’s start with AnTuTu 9.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 shows the best AnTuTu 9 scores. We can see the big jump in GPU performance. The total performance of the GPU is 236097, which is slower than the Snapdragon 888. The CPU also shows one of the best scores. It is 185735 which is a bit slower than the Snapdragon 888. The memory scores also show a significant boost. MediaTek Dimensity 1200 memory is faster than Snapdragon 855, Snapdragon 860. The Ux is also showing one of the best performances. It is 132097, which is faster than Snapdragon 855, Snapdragon 860. Total scores are above 666088. It will depend on which smartphones manufacturers use this chipset with which type of ram. MediaTek Dimensity 1200 is considerably gaining a performance boost and beating some of the latest processors in the Mid-rand category.

 The single-core scores show the best performance in this smartphone mid-range category lineup. The single cores scores are 1044. And the multi-core scores are 3689 which is also good at this point.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 lunched with the Big 1 cores of Cortex-A78 which is an ultra-high performance core that is clocked on 3.00 GHz, and 3 cores of high performance which are clocked on 2.6GHz. The other 4 cores is based on Cortex-A55 and are clocked on 2GHz which is power efficiency cores. There is a little disappointment that why they haven’t used the Cortex X1 or X2. But the Cortex-A78 also has the best speeds and good set instruction architecture. There are a total of 8 cores with a boost clock of 3.00 GHz. MediaTek Dimensity 1200 has the latest set instruction architecture. It is not considered fast but it is strong enough to beat some of the latest and power-full Chipsets. MediaTek Dimensity 1200 is fabricated on 6Nm. This means MediaTek Dimensity 1200 will be power efficient and will consume less battery and will produce less heat.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 has new architecture-based GPU. Valhall is the new architecture that they are using in the MediaTek Dimensity 1200. The GPU is also manufactured using the 6Nm technology. Which means it will also be power efficient. The name of the GPU is Mali-G77 MC9. This is the fastest GPU in this lineup. The MediaTek Dimensity 1200 is fast enough to handle games like FREE FIRE, PUBG MOBILE. The GPU score is faster than the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 this means there will be a smooth gaming experience on this chipset. The GPU is clocked on 850MHz. The shading units are also 144 which will help in rendering the graphics in gaming. There is also DirectX support of 12 which means this processor will support the latest games without any bugs and delays.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 uses the new LPDDR4x ram with a memory frequency of 4266MHz and uses the bus of 4×16. The ram may be changed according to the smartphones. The memory frequency is also going to be changed according to smartphones. The max memory bandwidth is 44Gbit/s which is also faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 which was used in Samsung Galaxy S10. The max ram support on this chipset is 16GB. This ram can be packed with the new UFS 3.1 storage thus will give you more read and write speeds.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 uses its own neural engine which is fast with AI calculations. MediaTek Dimensity 1200 uses the UFS 3.1 which is fast. This gives you fast read and writes speeds.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 has the maximum display support of FullHD+ and can support the 120Hz refresh rate with the super Amoled. MediaTek Dimensity 1200 is going to be very aggressive when it comes to a camera support. It supports a camera up to 200MP. Samsung is working on a new 200MP camera sensor. This means next year we are going to see this chipset with a 200MP camera sensor. The video capture is kept on 4k at 60FPS and the video playback is also 4k at 60FPS. There is no 8k support on this MediaTek Dimensity 1200. It is a bit of a shame to see there is no 8k support on a 2021 flagship processor.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 has 5G support. The MediaTek Dimensity 1200 also comes with the wi-fi 6 and the Bluetooth version of 5.2. This will give you better signals and better speeds. MediaTek Dimensity 1200 uses the X62 5G modem. Which is not fast as the X65 but it gives you good speeds.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 is launched in these 10 smartphones. As you can see these 10 smartphone scores are different. Oppo Realme GT Neo 2T is at the top. Which is a considerably great phone with this chipset.

Gaming experience on this chipset is going to be a little faster than the MediaTek Dimensity 1100. This chipset is combined with the 1 core of Cortex-A78 which is an ultra-high performance core that is clocked on 3.00 GHz, and 3 cores of high performance which are clocked on 2.6GHz. The other 4 cores are based on Cortex-A55 and are clocked on 2GHz cores, there are also going to be a few issues with heating. The frequency of this chipset is 3.13GHz, which is good for long-term gaming. This chipset also supports the LPDDR4x ram. This means there will be no issues with using this chipset on a long-term gaming session. This chipset also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. This will help in smooth performance with low latency. This chipset is can support PUBG MOBILE at 90FPS, this is because of the scores of the GPU.
