Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus Complete review with benchmarks


In today’s article, I am going to review Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus. I’m going to review its AnTuTu 9, CPU, Graphics, Memory, Multimedia, Connectivity, and gaming experience.

Over the last few years, Qualcomm Snapdragon is leading in the mobile chip market, but in 2022 the company went so far with record-breaking new chipsets. We’ve seen some amazing chipsets like Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that tops the antutu 9 benchmarks, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 that was launched in Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and many more smartphones. Now we have the full specs and full complete details of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus, let’s start off with the benchmarks.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus shows the best Antutu 9 scores. We can see a big jump in GPU performance. The total performance of the GPU is (203776), which is a bit faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. The CPU also shows one of the best scores. It is (141955) which is a bit faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. The memory scores also show a significant boost. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus memory is faster than Apple A11 Bionic, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. The Ux is also showing one of the best performances. It is 106589 which is faster than Apple A13 Bionic, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. Total scores are above 544142. It will depend on which smartphone manufacturers using this chipset with which type of ram. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus is considerably gaining performance boost and beating every processor in the Flagship category. This processor can be seen in Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. In the Flagship segment, it’s the best processor for gaming, camera, battery, display, and for everything.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus launched with the 1 big core of Cortex-A76 which is an ultra-high performance core that is clocked on 2.96GHz. The other 2 cores are based on Cortex-A76 and clocked on 2.42GHz. The other 4 cores are Cortex A55 which is a power efficiency core. The Cortex-A76 also has the best speeds and good set instruction architecture. There are a total of 8 cores with a boost clock of 2.96GHz. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus has the latest set instruction architecture. It is considerably fast and strong enough to beat some of the latest and most powerful Chipsets. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus is fabricated on 7Nm. This means Snapdragon 855 Plus will be power efficient and will consume less battery and will produce less heat. it is fast with the big 4 A76 cores. It is also L3 cache is also 2MB which is a lot faster than the other processor in the market right now. The TDP is 10 Watts which means the processor will be best with the battery management. In this Qualcomm Snapdragon, 855 Plus the CPU performance is very fast and very efficient. There is a 6.7Billion transistor in this Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus which is more than enough for a mobile chipset. This processor has incredible speeds and good optimization.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus have a new architecture-based GPU. Adreno 600 is the new architecture that they are using in the Snapdragon 855 Plus. The GPU is also manufactured using the 7nm technology. Which means it will also be power efficient. The name of the GPU is Adreno 640. This is the fastest GPU in this lineup. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus is fast enough to handle games like FREEFIRE, PUBG MOBILE. The GPU score is faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 which means there will be a smooth gaming experience on this chipset. The GPU is clocked on 675MHz. The shading units are also 384 which will help in rendering the graphics in gaming. There is also DirectX support of 12 which means this processor will support the latest games without any bugs and delays.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus uses the new LPDDR4x ram with the memory frequency of 2750MHz and uses the bus of 4×16. The ram may be changed according to the smartphones. The memory frequency is also going to be changed according to the smartphones. The max memory bandwidth is 34.1Gbit/s which is also faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 which was used in Samsung Galaxy S10.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus uses the Hexagon 698 which is fast with the AI calculations. Snapdragon 855 Plus uses the NVMe which is fast. This gives you fast read and writing speeds.

Snapdragon 855 Plus have the maximum display support of QuadHD+ and can support the 120Hz refresh rate with the super Amoled. The video capture is kept on 4k at 120FPS and the video playback is also 8k at 30FPS. There is no 8k 60fps support on this Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus. It is a bit of a shame to see there is no 8k 60fps support on a 2021 Flagship processor.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus have 5G support. The Snapdragon 855 Plus also comes with wi-fi 6 and the Bluetooth version of 5.0. This will give you better signals and better speeds. Snapdragon 855 Plus uses the Snapdragon X24 LTE, X50 5G modem. It is not fast as the X65 but it gives you good speeds.

Gaming experience on this chipset is going to be a little faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. This chipset is combined with the 2 Big Cortex-A76 cores and which boosts the performance. With 2 Big Cortex-A76, there is also going to be a few issues with heating. The frequency of this chipset is 2.96GHz, which is good for long-term gaming. This chipset also supports the LPDDR4x ram. This means there will be no issues with using this chipset on a long-term gaming session. This chipset also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. This will help in smooth performance with low latency. This chipset is can support PUBG MOBILE at 60FPS, this is because of the scores of the GPU.
