Samsung Exynos 1280:
Over the last few years, Samsung Exynos is leading in the mobiles chip market, but in 2022 the company has gone so far with the record-breaking new chipsets. We’ve seen some amazing chipsets like Samsung Exynos 1080, Samsung Exynos 2200 that made into top 5 the AnTuTu 9 benchmarks, Samsung Exynos 2100 that was lunched in Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and many more smartphones. Now we have the full specs and full complete details of the Samsung Exynos 1280, let’s start off with the benchmarks.
AnTuTu 9:
We don’t have much data about geekbench 5. When we do we will make another article on that. The rest of the specs are leaked on social media. But the other specs are very familiar with the Snapdragon 778G. So if you haven’t seen the article on that make sure to check out the chipsets in the menu.
Geekbench 5:
Single-Core Score | 732 |
Multi-Core Score | 1894 |
The single-core scores show the best performance in this smartphone mid-range category lineup. The single cores scores are 732. And the multi-core scores are 1894 which is also good at this point.
CPU:
Architecture | 2x 2.4 GHz – Cortex-A78 6x 2 GHz – Cortex-A55 |
Cores | 8 |
Frequency | 2400 MHz |
Process | 5 nanometers |
Samsung Exynos 1280 lunched with the Big 2 cores of Cortex-A78at 2.4GHz. The other 6 cores are based on Cortex-A55 which is power efficiency cores. The Cortex-A78 also has the best speeds and good set instruction architecture. There are a total of 8 cores with a boost clock of 2.4 GHz. Samsung Exynos 1280 have the latest set instruction architecture. It is considerably fast and strong enough to beat some of the latest and power-full Chipsets. Samsung Exynos 1280 is fabricated on 5Nm. This means Samsung Exynos 1280 will be power efficient and will consume less battery and will produce less heat.
Graphics:
GPU name | Mali-G68 |
Architecture | Valhall 2 |
GPU frequency | 1000 MHz |
Execution units | 4 |
Shading units | 48 |
Vulkan version | 1.1 |
OpenCL version | 2.0 |
DirectX version | 12 |
Samsung Exynos 1280 have a new architecture-based GPU. Valhall 2 is the new architecture that they are using in the Samsung Exynos 1280. The GPU is also manufactured using the 5Nm technology. Which means it will also be power efficient. The name of the GPU is Mali-G68. This is the fastest GPU in this midrange lineup. The Samsung Exynos 1280 is fast enough to handle games like FREE FIRE, PUBG MOBILE, etc. The GPU is clocked at 1000MHz. The shading units are also 48 which will help in rendering the graphics in gaming. There is also DirectX support of 12 which means this processor will support the latest games without any bugs and delays.
Memory:
Memory type | LPDDR5 |
Memory frequency | 2750 MHz |
Bus | 4x 16 Bit |
Max size | 8 GB |
Samsung Exynos 1280 uses the new LPDDR5 ram with a memory frequency of 2750MHz and uses the bus of 4×16. The ram may be changed according to the smartphones. The memory frequency is also going to be changed according to smartphones. The max memory bandwidth is unknown but it will be around 20-35Gbit/s.
Support:
Neural processor (NPU) | Yes |
Storage type | UFS 3.1 |
Max display resolution | 2960 x 1440 |
Video capture | 4K at 60FPS |
Video playback | 4K at 60FPS |
Samsung Exynos 1280 uses its own neural engine which is fast with AI calculations. Samsung Exynos 1280 uses the UFS 3.1 which is fast. This gives you fast read and writing speeds.
Samsung Exynos 1280 have the maximum display support of QuadHD+ and can support the 120Hz refresh rate with the super Amoled. Samsung Exynos 1280 is going to be very aggressive when it comes to a camera support. It supports a camera up to 200MP. The video capture is kept on 4k 60FPS and the video playback is also 4k 60FPS. This new instruction architecture is good with new AI algorithms that make this chipset efficient.
Connectivity:
5G support | Yes |
Wi-Fi | 6 |
Bluetooth | 5.2 |
Samsung Exynos 1280 have 5G support. The Samsung Exynos 1280 is also coming with the wi-fi 6 and the Bluetooth version of 5.2. This will give you better signals and better speeds. Samsung Exynos 1280 uses its own 5G modem. Which is not fast as the X65 but it gives you good speeds.
Smartphones
Phones with Exynos 1280 | AnTuTu v9 |
1. Samsung Galaxy A53 5G | – |
2. Samsung Galaxy A33 5G | – |
Samsung Exynos 1280 is launched in these 2 smartphones. As you can see these 2 smartphone scores are different. Samsung Galaxy A53 5Gs is at the top. Which is a considerably great phone with this chipset.
Gaming Experience:
The gaming experience on this chipset is going to be a little faster than the Samsung Exynos 1280. This chipset is combine with the 2 Big Cortex-A78 cores, which boosts the performance. With 2 big Cortex-A78 core there is also going to be a few issues with heating. The frequency of this chipset is 2.4GHz, which is good for long-term gaming. This chipset also supports the LPDDR5 ram. This means there will be no issues with using this chipset on a long-term gaming session. This chipset also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. This will help in smooth performance with low latency. This chipset is can support PUBG MOBILE at 60FPS, this is because of the scores of the GPU.
We don’t have much data about this chipset. But it looks powerful enough to beat some of the latest chipsets. Hope we get full data from the smartphones that are going to lunch with this chipset.
