MediaTek Dimensity 930:

Over the last few years, Mediatek is leading in the mobiles chip market, but in 2020 Mediatek launched Mediatek Dimensity Series and we’ve seen some amazing chipsets like MediaTek Dimensity 1000, MediaTek Dimensity 1200 which was launched in Poco X3 GT, MediaTek Dimensity 9000 that was launched in Vivo X80 and many more. Now we have the full specs and full complete details of the MediaTek Dimensity 930, let’s start off with the benchmarks.

AnTuTu 9:

Total score None

We have not done any tests about the AnTuTu 9 benchmarks of this processor. When we have we will publish another article on the AnTuTu 9 benchmarks.

Geekbench 5:

Single-Core Score 799
Multi-Core Score 2763

The single core scores show the best performance in this smartphone mid-range category lineup. The single core scores are 799. And the multi-core scores are 2763 which is also good at this point.

Architecture 2x 2.2 GHz – Cortex-A78
6x 2 GHz – Cortex-A55
Cores 8
Frequency 2200 MHz
Instruction set ARMv8.2-A
Process 6 nanometers
TDP 10 W

Dimensity 930 launched with the Big 2 cores of Cortex-A78 which are ultra-high performance cores that are clocked on 2.2 GHz. The other 2 cores are based on Cortex-A55 which are power efficiency cores. There is a little disappointment that why they haven’t used the Cortex X1 or X2. But the Cortex-A78 also has the best speeds and good set instruction architecture. There are a total of 8 cores with a boost clock of 2.2 GHz. MediaTek Dimensity 930 has the latest set instruction architecture. It is not considered fast but it is strong enough to beat some of the latest and most powerful Chipsets. MediaTek Dimensity 930 is fabricated on 6Nm. This means Dimensity 930 will be power efficient and will consume less battery and will produce less heat. The TDP is 10 which means this chipset will consume more battery.

GPU name IMG BXM-8-256
Architecture PowerVR B-Series
Vulkan version 1.1
OpenCL version 2.0
DirectX version 12

MediaTek Dimensity 930 has a new architecture-based GPU. IMG BXM-8 256 is the new architecture that they are using in the MediaTek Dimensity 930. The GPU is also manufactured using the 6Nm technology. Which means it will also be power efficient. The name of the GPU is PowerVR B-Series. This is the fastest GPU in this lineup. The Dimensity 930 is fast enough to handle games like FREE FIRE and PUBG MOBILE. The GPU score is faster than the MediaTek Dimensity 930 which means there will be a smooth gaming experience on this chipset. The GPU is clocked on 900MHz. The shading units are also 48 which will help in rendering the graphics in gaming. There is also DirectX support of 12 which means this processor will support the latest games without any bugs and delays.

Memory type LPDDR5
Memory frequency 3200 MHz
Bus 4x 16 Bit
Max bandwidth 18.4 Gbit/s
Max size 16 GB

MediaTek Dimensity 930 uses the new LPDDR5 ram with the memory frequency of 3200MHz and uses the bus of 4×16. The ram may be changed according to the smartphone manufacturers, like XIAOMI, REALME, VIVO, etc. The memory frequency is also going to be changed according to the smartphone manufacturers. The max memory bandwidth is 18Gbit/s which is also faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G which was used in Redmi Note 10 Pro.

Neural processor (NPU) Yes
Storage type UFS 3.1
Max display resolution 2520 x 1080
Max camera resolution 1x 108MP
Video capture 2K at 30FPS
Video playback 2K at 30FPS

MediaTek Dimensity 930 uses its own neural engine which is fast with the AI calculations and it can be used to accelerate video analysis, voice recognition, and image processing. MediaTek Dimensity 930 uses the UFS 3.1 which is fast. This gives you fast read and writing speeds.

MediaTek Dimensity 930 has the maximum display support of FullHD+ and can support the 120Hz refresh rate with the super Amoled. Dimensity 930 is going to be very aggressive when it comes to camera support. It supports camera up to 108MP. The video capture is kept on 2k at 30FPS and the video playback is also 2k at 30FPS. There is no 3k support on this MediaTek Dimensity 930. It is a bit odd to see no 8k support on a 2022 mid-range Chipset.

5G support Yes
Wi-Fi 5
Bluetooth 5.2

MediaTek Dimensity 930 has 5G support. The MediaTek Dimensity 930 also comes with a Wi-Fi 5 and the Bluetooth version of 5.0. This will give you better signals and better speeds. Dimensity 930 uses its own 5G modem. It is not fast as the X65 but it gives you good speeds.

Gaming Experience:

The gaming experience on this chipset is going to be a little faster than the MediaTek Dimensity 820. This chipset is combined with the 2 Big A78 cores, which boosts the performance. With 2 big Cortex A-78 cores, there are also going to be a few issues with heating. The frequency of this chipset is 2.2 GHz, which is good for long-term gaming. This chipset also supports the LPDDR5 ram. This means there will be no issues with using this chipset in a long-term gaming session. This chipset also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. This will help in smooth performance with low latency. This chipset is can support PUBG MOBILE at 60FPS, this is because of the scores of the GPU.
