This display is faster and accurate with 120Hz support. The display is punchier and vibrant. The gaming experience is also going to be very good because of its 120Hz refresh rate and also the content watching will be good with deep blacks and high contrast ratio. Thanks to DCIP3 technology. OnePlus Ace is using the OLED panel. Which is good and can deliver faster performance with no touch lag issuers. The display is also protected by the Gorilla Glass 5. Screen to body ratio is 89%, which will give you thinner bezels. The display ratio is 20:9 which means content watching will be amazing.

OnePlus is known for its amazing new designs. OnePlus Ace has a new design with new textures on the back, which makes it more futuristic and strong. The rear is made of glass and the frame is made of plastic, which makes it a little lighter than other Mid-Flagship smartphones. There’s no IP68 water and dust resistance in this OnePlus Ace. The phone is protected by a plastic frame that’s why it makes it lighter by 186 grams. Talking about the design, the Camera bump takes up a little space for the camera itself. I mean we are talking about a nice camera bump of this phone. The camera bump looks familiar with the Xiaomi 12 Pro. The fingerprint scanner it’s located in the in-display and has some amazing speeds because of the new ultrasonic sensor on display.
Performance:
Chipset | MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max |

These higher performance cores make the phone experience much smoother with the 120Hz display. The gaming experience is also on another level with the new cooling system in this smartphone. The Mali-G610 MC6 is one of the most powerful GPU on this planet right now, which makes the OnePlus Ace more faster than other Mid-Flagship smartphones. I already published a complete article on this chipset you can check that out here MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max. We will talk about the AnTuTu 9 scores in a minute but first, let’s take a look at the memory and storage.

And with the new MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max, the performance will be much smoother. The ram is LPDDR5 with a memory frequency of 2750MHz. OnePlus Ace has the fastest UFS 3.1 storage. Which will load the apps much faster. There is no SD card support which is no issue because you can get a 512GB model.
Benchmarks:
Antutu 9 Benchmarks
Total score | 787901 |
MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max shows one of the best AnTuTu 9 scores. Total scores are 787901. Which are a little bit higher than the MediaTek Dimensity 8000. MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max is gaining a performance boost and beating the last-gen MediaTek Dimensity 8000 processor. In the Mid-Flagship segment, this processor is best for gaming, camera, battery, display, and everything. You will experience a much smoother touch, opening, and closing of apps.
Software:
Operating system | Android 12 |
ROM | ColorOS 12.1 |
The OnePlus Ace is going to be launching with Android 12 straight out of the box. Which is more customizable than the Android 11 and has tons of new features. This new custom ROM is optimized well with new cool animations and wallpapers. This new ColorOS 12.1 fix old bugs like touch lags, camera app improvements, new layouts, improved dark mode, and a new gaming turbo engine. OnePlus is known for its good software optimization with its new custom ROM.
Battery:
Capacity | 4500 mAh |
Charge power | 150 W |
Wireless charging | Yes |
Reverse wireless charging | Yes |
Battery type | Li-Po |
Full charging time | 0.10 hr |
OnePlus Ace comes with a massive 150 watts charger. Which can fully charge the OnePlus Ace in just 10 minutes which is amazingly fast. There is wireless charging support. The charging speeds are so good that on 5 minutes of charge this OnePlus Ace can last up to 6 hours thanks to that massive 4500MAh battery. OnePlus Ace is a full-day phone I mean this phone can last all day long. This type of smartphone is needed for those people who travel a lot. Because this phone can charge in just 10 minutes compared to the iPhone 13 pro max which takes about 2 hours to charge.
MAIN CAMERA:
Matrix | 50 megapixels |
Image resolution | 8700 x 5800 |
Zoom | Digital |
Flash | Dual LED |
Stabilization | Optical |
8K video recording | No |
4K video recording | 60 FPS |
1080p video recording | Up to 60FPS |
Lenses | (50 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP) |
OnePlus Ace has 3 cameras at the back and the main camera is awesome. The OnePlus Ace main Camera is 50 megapixel Sony IMX 766 F/1.9. What makes this camera setup even more awesome is that this camera lens is combined with the wide aperture of F/1.9, the wider the aperture the more light will it collect and the more sharp the image and video quality will be. This OnePlus Ace can record video at 4K at 60 FPS. This is amazing the video will contain more details thanks to its good optimization software and the high-end processor. You can also record 4K at 30FPS which will contain even more details and will be sharper. There is Optical image stabilization on the main lens only. This is quite impressive, this will make the camera experience more stable and more accurate. You will say goodbye to that blurry shots and unstable videos. The OnePlus Ace has 2 more camera lenses. Let’s talk about that in detail.
Lenses:
Triple | 50 MP, f/1.9, 24mm (wide), 1/1.56″, 1.0µm, PDAF, OIS 8 MP, f/2.2, 16mm, 120˚ (ultrawide), 1/4.0″, 1.12µm 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro) |
Features | LED flash, HDR, panorama |
As I mentioned above that this 50 MP sensor is good. But this OnePlus Ace has 2 more camera lenses. There is another camera sensor of 8MP which is an ultra-wide camera. The field of view is 16mm which is wider. This camera sensor also has some amazing autofocus. This sensor can take amazing shots with high accuracy. Its aperture is F/2.2, which makes it sharp and contains good tons on subjects. This OnePlus Ace has an amazing camera setup, with fast autofocus lenses, high sensors, and good software optimization. There is another 2MP macro camera which is useless in most situations because it’s only 2MP.
SELFIE CAMERA:
Single | 16 MP, f/2.4, 26mm (wide), 1/3.09″, 1.0µm |
Features | HDR, panorama |
Video | 1080p@30fps, gyro-EIS |
When it comes to selfie cameras the OnePlus Ace has a single punch whole camera of 16MP which has the largest pixels. This single-punch whole camera contains some awesome details when it comes to daytime shots. At night time this camera sensor struggles a lot. And what makes me more concerned is about its aperture because its aperture, which is only F/2.4 which means the photos will look not accurate as other smartphones, also this camera will suffer a lot at night because the sensor is not that wide to capture more light thus leaving us in disappointed. The camera video capabilities are also kept at 1080P at 30FPS only.
Connectivity:
Wi-Fi standard | Wi-Fi 6 |
Bluetooth version | 5.2 |
USB type | USB Type-C |
NFC* | Yes |
This OnePlus Ace is launching with the Wi-Fi 6 which is faster, more efficient, and gives you less latency when compared to the Wi-Fi 5. Which will make the user experience smoother and faster. There is also the support of Bluetooth 5.2. Which is also faster and more efficient than version 5.1. OnePlus Ace has the USB type C gen 2.0 support which makes sense because of the 120 watts of fast wire charging so it must need more bandwidth for charging speeds. It also helps with the data transfer because it helps with the faster read and write speeds. OnePlus Ace also has NFC support which is also useful. You can pay, and transfer files at high speeds thanks to the NFC support.
SOUND:
Speakers | Yes, with stereo speakers |
Headphone audio jack | No |
The OnePlus Ace comes with stereo speakers. This OnePlus Ace has nice sound quality with a nice amount of bass in it. This will help in gaming because there are two speakers one at the bottom and one at the top which will help gamers. Video watching and hearing to music also going to be good. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack which is neither good nor bad.
Colors:
Colors | Black, Blue |
The OnePlus Ace is going to launch in three different colors. Black and Blue. OnePlus is known for its premium colors with good contexts. I like the black color because it looks better than these two colors.
Price:
This smartphone is costing around $400 which is way cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and the iPhone 13 pro max.
Final Thoughts:
If you are looking for a good Mid-Flagship phone, good gaming phone, good design, good display, and amazing performance then this OnePlus Ace is worth buying. Because it has all the needs that a good consumer needs.
