Realme is known for its amazing new premium designs. Oppo Realme 9 has a similar design to the Oppo Realme 9 Pro Plus but with new textures on the back. The rear is made of plastic and the frame is made of plastic too, which makes it a little lighter than other Midrange smartphones. There’s no IP68 water and dust resistance in this Oppo Realme 9. The phone is protected by a plastic frame that’s why it makes it lighter by 170 grams. Talking about the design, the Camera bump takes up a little space for the camera itself. I mean we are talking about a nice camera bump of this phone. The camera bump looks familiar with the Oppo Realme 9 Pro Plus. The fingerprint scanner it’s located in the in-display and has some amazing speeds because of the new ultrasonic sensor in display.

The gaming experience is also on another level with the new cooling system in this smartphone. The Adreno 610 is one of the most powerful GPUs in the midrange category, which makes the Oppo Realme 9 faster than other Midrange smartphones. I already published a complete article on this chipset you can check that out here Qualcomm Snapdragon 680. We will talk about the AnTuTu 9 scores in a minute but first, let’s take a look at the memory and storage.

The ram is LPDR4X with a memory frequency of 2133MHz. Oppo Realme 9 has only 128GB of storage, which is based on UFS 2.1 storage. Which will load the apps much faster. There is also an SD card support which is awesome because you can get a 512GB SD card and expand your storage.

Antutu 9 Benchmarks

CPU 86582
GPU 50350
Memory 73914
UX 79973
Total score 293011

Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 has fewer scores than the last Gen Realme 8. Realme 8 was using MediaTek Helio G95  which has slightly better GPU and CPU performance. But this processor is also good in terms of performance. The total score of this processor is 293011. Which are a little bit higher than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675. Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 is gaining a performance boost and beating the last-gen MediaTek Dimensity 8000 processor. In the Midrange segment, this processor is best for gaming, camera, battery, display, and everything. You will experience a much smoother touch, opening, and closing of apps.

Operating system Android 12
ROM Realme UI 3.0

The Oppo Realme 9 is going to be launching with Android 12 straight out of the box. Which is more customizable than the Android 11 and has tons of new features. This new custom ROM is optimized well with new cool animations and wallpapers. This new Realme UI 3.0 fix old bugs like touch lags, camera app improvements, new layouts, improved dark mode, and a new gaming turbo engine. Realme is known for its good software optimization with its new custom ROM.

Capacity 5000 mAh

Oppo Realme 9 comes with 33 Watts of the charger in the box. Which can fully charge the Oppo Realme 9 in just 75 minutes which is good. There is no wireless charging support. The charging speeds are good that on 30 minutes of charge this Oppo Realme 9 can last up to 8 hours thanks to that massive 5000MAh battery. Oppo Realme 9 is a full-day phone I mean this phone can last all day long. This phone has a power-efficient processor, which makes the battery cooler and the processor takes less TDP, so this also leads to good battery life.

Matrix 108 megapixels
Image resolution 12000 x 9000
Zoom Digital
Flash LED
Stabilization Digital
8K video recording No
4K video recording No
1080p video recording Up to 30FPS
Angle of widest lens 120°
Lenses 3 (108 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP)

Oppo Realme 9 has 3 cameras at the back and the main camera is a huge upgrade from the last-gen Realme 8. The Oppo Realme 9 main Camera is 108 megapixels and had a brand new camera sensor from Samsung which is Samsung HM6 F/1.8. What makes this camera setup even more awesome is that this camera lens is combined with a wide aperture of F/1.8 and has a big size, the wider the aperture the more light will it collect and the more sharp the image quality will be. Well, one of the worst downgrades form the Realme 8 is the ability to record at 4K. I mean why give a huge sensor with amazing performance and it cannot even record at 4K. I’m so disappointed by this. This Oppo Realme 9 can record video only at 1080P at 60 FPS. You can’t record 4K at 30FPS. The Oppo Realme 9 has 2 more camera lenses. Let’s talk about that in detail.

Wide (main) lens – 108 MP
– Aperture: f/1.8
– Pixel size: 0.64 micron
– Sensor: 1/1.67″, Samsung HM6 (ISOCELL Plus CMOS)
– Phase autofocus (Dual Pixel)
Ultra-wide lens – 8 MP
– Aperture: f/2.2
– Pixel size: 1.12 micron
– Sensor: 1/4″, OmniVision OV08D10 (CMOS)
Macro lens – 2 MP
– Aperture: f/2.5
– Pixel size: 1.75 micron
– Sensor: 1/5″, GalaxyCore GC02M1 (CMOS)
Camera features – Bokeh mode
– Pro mode

As I mentioned above that this 108 MP sensor is good. But this Oppo Realme 9 has 2 more camera lenses. There is another camera sensor of 8MP which is an ultra-wide camera. The field of view is 16mm which is wider. This camera sensor also has some amazing autofocus. This sensor can take amazing shots with high accuracy. Its aperture is F/2.2, which makes it sharp and contains good tons on subjects. This Realme 9 has an amazing camera setup, with fast autofocus lenses, high sensors, and good software optimization. There is another 2MP macro camera which is useless in the most situations because it’s only 2MP.

Megapixels 16 megapixels
Image resolution 4920 x 3264
Aperture f/2.1
Pixel size 1 microns
Sensor type Exmor-RS CMOS
Sensor size 1/3.13″
Video resolution 1080p (Full HD) at 30 FPS

When it comes to selfie cameras the Oppo Realme 9 has a single punch whole camera of 16MP which have the largest pixels. This single-punch whole camera contains some awesome details when it comes to daytime shots. At night time this camera sensor struggles a little bit because its aperture is F/2.1 which means the photos will look accurate and will have nice skin tons and nice dynamic range, also this camera will suffer a little at night because the sensor is not that wide to capture more light. The camera video capabilities are also kept at 1080P at 30FPS only.

Wi-Fi standard Wi-Fi 5
Bluetooth version 5.1
USB type USB Type-C

This Oppo Realme 9 is launching with the Wi-Fi 5 which is faster, more efficient, and gives you less latency when compared to the Wi-Fi 4. Which will make the user experience smoother and faster. There is also the support of Bluetooth 5.1. Which is also faster and more efficient than version 5.0. Oppo Realme 9 has USB type C Gen 2.0 support. It will help with the data transfer because it helps with the faster read and write speeds. Oppo Realme 9 also has No NFC support.

Speakers Mono
Headphone audio jack Yes
FM radio No

The Oppo Realme 9 comes with a mono speaker. This Oppo Realme 9 has average sound quality. This is not good for a mid-range smartphone I mean Xiaomi is giving Stereo speakers with Dolby Atoms support and this phone has only one speaker. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack which is a good option for gamers.

Colors White, Black, Gold

The Oppo Realme 9 is going to lunch in three different colors. White, Black, and Gold. Realme is known for its premium colors with good contexts. I like the black color because it looks better than these two colors.

This smartphone is costing around $250 which is way cheaper than the Oppo Realme 9 Pro Plus and the Oppo Realme 9 5G Speed Edition.

Final Thoughts:

If you are looking for a good Midrange phone, good gaming phone, good design, good display, and amazing performance then this Oppo Realme 9 is worth buying. Because it has all the needs that a good consumer needs.
