Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1:
Over the last few years, Qualcomm Snapdragon is leading in the mobiles chip market, but in 2022 the company went so far with the record-breaking new chipsets seen some amazing chipsets like Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 topping the AnTuTu 9 benchmarks, Qualcomm Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G that was launched in Oppo Realme GT Master Edition. Now we have the full specs and full complete details of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, let’s start with the benchmarks.
AnTuTu 9:
We don’t have details about this chipset Antutu 9. When we test this chipset we will publish another article on this chipset’s AnTuTu 9 benchmarks.
Geekbench 5:
Single-Core Score | 706 |
Multi-Core Score | 2381 |
The single-core scores show the best performance in this smartphone mid-range category lineup. The single-core scores are 706. And the multi-core scores are 2387 which is also good at this point. The multi scores are good with the new architecture and with the ARM version. The single-core scores and multi-core scores are a lot slower than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. We thought that this chipset will beat Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G in almost every situation.
CPU:
Architecture | 1x 2.4 GHz – Cortex-A710 3x 2.36 GHz – Cortex-A710 4x 1.8 GHz – Cortex-A510 |
Cores | 8 |
Frequency | 2400 MHz |
Process | 4 nanometers |
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 launched with the Big 1 core of Cortex-A710 which is an ultra-high performance core it is clocked on 2.4 GHz the other 3 cores of Cortex-A710 are clocked on 2.36GHz. The other 4 cores are based on Cortex-A55 and are clocked on 1.8GHz, which are power efficiency cores. There is a little disappointment that why they haven’t used the Cortex X1 or X2. If they would’ve used the new architecture, then it would’ve been more powerful. But the Cortex-A710 also has the best speeds and good set instruction architecture. There are a total of 8 cores with a boost clock of 2.4 GHz. Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 has the latest set instruction architecture. It is not considered fast but it is strong enough to beat some of the latest and most powerful Chipsets. Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is fabricated on 4Nm. This means Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will be power efficient and will consume less battery and will produce less heat. This chipset will have better background optimization thanks to the big L2 cache memory of 3MB. The TDP shows 5watts of power consumption which is good and will consume less battery.
Graphics:
GPU name | Adreno 662 |
Architecture | Adreno 600 |
Vulkan version | 1.1 |
OpenCL version | 2.0 |
DirectX version | 12 |
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 has a new architecture-based GPU. Adreno 600 is the new architecture that they are using in the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The GPU is also manufactured using the 4Nm technology. Which means it will also be power efficient. The name of the GPU is Adreno 662. This is the fastest GPU in this lineup. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is fast enough to handle games like FREE FIRE, and PUBG MOBILE. The GPU score is faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G which means there will be a smooth gaming experience on this chipset. The GPU is clocked at 600MHz. The shading units are also 384 which will help in rendering the graphics in gaming. There is also DirectX support of 12 which means this processor will support the latest games without any bugs and delays.
Memory:
Memory type | LPDDR5 |
Memory frequency | 3200 MHz |
Bus | 2x 16 Bit |
Max bandwidth | 25.6 Gbit/s |
Max size | 16 GB |
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 uses the new LPDDR5 ram with the memory frequency of 3200MHz and uses the bus of 2×16. The ram may be changed according to the smartphone manufacturers, like XIAOMI, REALME, VIVO, etc. The memory frequency is also going to be changed according to the smartphone manufacturers. The max memory bandwidth is 25.6Gbit/s which is also faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G which was used in OnePlus Nord. The max ram support on this chipset is 16GB which is good with the new high speeds of UFS 3.1 storage it’s a great combination.
Support:
Neural processor (NPU) | Yes |
Storage type | UFS 3.1 |
Max display resolution | 3360 x 1600 |
Max camera resolution | 1x 200MP |
Video capture | 4K at 30FPS |
Video playback | 4K at 30FPS |
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 uses the hexagon 770 which is fast with the AI calculations. Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 uses the 3.1 which is fast. This gives you fast read and writing speeds.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 has the maximum display support of somewhere 4K and can support the 120Hz refresh rate with the super Amoled. Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is going to be very aggressive when it comes to a camera support. It supports cameras up to 200MP. The video capture is kept on 4k at 30FPS and the video playback is also 4k at 30FPS. There is no 8k support on this Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. It is a bit odd to see there is no 8k support on a 2022 mid-flagship chipset.
Connectivity:
Modem | X53 |
5G support | Yes |
Wi-Fi | 6 |
Bluetooth | 5.2 |
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 has 5G support. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 also comes with the Wi-Fi 6 and the Bluetooth version of 5.2. This will give you better signals and better speeds. Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 uses the Snapdragon X53 5G modem. It is not fast as the X65 but it gives you good speeds. The X53 has some of the most amazing download and upload speeds. With the new latest custom ROM, the internet speeds are increased thanks to the optimization.
Gaming Experience:
The gaming experience on this chipset is going to be a little faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G. This chipset is combined with the 4 Big A710 cores which boost the performance. With 4 big Cortex A-710 cores, there are also going to be a few issues with heating. The frequency of this chipset is 2.4 GHz, which is good for long-term gaming. This chipset also supports the LPDDR5 ram. This means there will be no issues with using this chipset in a long-term gaming session. This chipset also supports a 120Hz refresh rate display. This will help in smooth performance with low latency. This chipset is can support PUBG MOBILE at 60FPS, this is because of the scores of the GPU.
