AMD Ryzen 5 6600HS:

Well, we know that AMD new architecture is faster and more efficient than the last gen. but to find out we need to see how much the performance difference there is, and for that, we are going to review this new processor from

Cinebench R23:

Cinebench R23 (Single-Core) 1470
Cinebench R23 (Multi-Core) 8036

Currently, we don’t have any tests on this processor’s r23 benchmarks. We have been so busy testing new processors, you guys will see amazing new processors with the new tests and with amazing details, in the future.

Geekbench 5:

Geekbench 5 (Single-Core) 1464
Geekbench 5 (Multi-Core) 7335

On the bright side, this processor really pulls off the best performance in a laptop. You know that there are so many major issues with laptops in heat management, and due to that the processor gets thermal throttled and gets decreased performance. So this processor really ekes the full performance with good heat management. That’s because of the new architecture and with the help of some power efficiency cores, we will get there in a bit. But overall the tests show the single-core performance of this processor is 1464, which is great at this point. And the multi-core also shows some of the best scores which are 7335.

Specifications:

Vendor AMD
Released January 4, 2022
Type Laptop
instruction set x86-64
Codename Rembrandt
Socket FP7
Integrated GPU Radeon 660M

AMD Ryzen 5 6600HS is a Laptop processor produced by AMD. This processor supports the socket FP7 which is most the important fact of the new AMD Ryzen processors. This processor has 6 cores and 12 threads. The base clock frequency of the AMD Ryzen 5 6600HS is 3300 MHz, but with the new Turbo Boost technology, it can go up to 4500MHz. The size of the L3 cache is a whopping 16MB. This processor has also integrated graphics which is Radeon 660M. The instruction set architecture is based on x64 and can support x86. As the x64 will make more bandwidth then this x64 will be the best choice. This processor is based on Zen 3 architecture which is 25% faster and more efficient than the Zen 2 architecture. This processor was launched back on January 4 2022. Keep in mind that the new processors have much more speeds and will eke out the full performance potential of the Zen 3 architecture.

Performance:

Cores 6
Threads 12
Base Frequency 3.3 GHz
Turbo Boost Frequency 4.5 GHz
Bus frequency 100 MHz
Multiplier 33x
L1 Cache 64K (per core)
L2 Cache 512K (per core)
L3 Cache 16MB (shared)
Unlocked Multiplier No

This processor has 6 cores and 12 threads with a base clock of 3.3GHz and, a boost clock of 4.5GHz. The bus frequency is 100MHz. which will help PCI lanes in terms of performance. This processor is also unlocked with a multiplier of 33x. This will help in overclocking this processor with the right amount of power consumption. This processor has the fastest L1, L2, and L3 cache memories. The L1 cache memory is 64K per core which means 6 cores have their own L1 cache memories. The L2 cache memory is also 512KB per core on 6 cores. The L3 cache memory is also 16MB which is also shared with the system. If you are looking for the best value processor then this AMD Ryzen 5 6600HS is the best choice. In terms of gaming, this processor performs very great with good compatibility with Nvidia GPUs and with AMD GPUs. In terms of video editing and graphics rendering this processor also shows the best performance. Because of its base clock of 3.3GHz and the boost clock of 4.5GHz. This processor can be more powerful if you chose the right motherboard for it. Because this processor can be overclocked. But I would say no to overclock because 4.5GHz is enough for today’s gaming and editing. This processor is one of the fastest CPUs on this planet right now. It’s cheap and fast which is good for gamers.

Power Consumption:

Fabrication process 6 nm
TDP 35 W
Max. temperature 95°C

There are more than 20 billion transistors. This processor is based on 6Nm process fabrication. The TDP shows 35W of power consumption. This processor can also be overclocked. So, you can increase the voltage in the motherboard interface if the motherboard supports the unlocked processors. The most amazing fact about this processor is that the max temperature support of this processor is 95C which is awesome. You can play games as long as you want and this will not affect the speeds or any thermal throttling issues if you have a good CPU cooler or water cooler. Sometimes when this processor takes a bunch of loaded applications then the processor increases the speeds of each core to the needs. This increases power consumption, thus making the CPU hotter. And is known for overheating so this will help in the state of the CPU performance and make it cooler.

Integrated GPU:

Integrated Graphics AMD Radeon 660M
GPU Base Clock 1500 MHz
GPU Boost Clock 1900 MHz
Shading Units 384
TMUs 24
ROPs 16
Execution Units 6
TGP 15 W

Unlike the AMD Ryzen and Intel F series processors this processor also has integrated Graphics. AMD Ryzen 5 6600HS has 384 shading units with a base clock of 1500MHz and the boost clock of 1900MHz. The speeds are faster than some of the latest iGPU from Intel 12gen processors. There is also 24 TMUs and 16 ROPs which will help in a performance increase. There are also 12 Execution units. The TGP shows only 15W of power consumption. Basically, TMUs are, they are texture mapping unit components in modern graphics processing units. It helps in rotating, resizing, etc. ROPs or (Raster operation pipelines) are the rendering output unit. This processor also has a powerful enough GPU that you can play some games on it like Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 1, 2, 3, etc. the boost clock will help to stabilize the FPS in games. The iGPU is remain the same as all the Ryzen 6000 series.

Ram support:

Memory types DDR5-4800, LPDDR5-6400
Max. Memory Channels 4

AMD Ryzen 5 6600HS can support the DDR5-4800 and LPDDR5 with a memory frequency of 6400MHz. The max memory support of this AMD Ryzen 5 6600HS is 32GB of ram. The max memory channel support is 2 channels of Ram. The max memory bandwidth is above 68.27 GB/s which is incredibly fast. There is ECC support on this AMD Ryzen 5 6600HS.

Gaming Experience:

This processor is a good option for gamers. Considering its capabilities, it performs well in almost any situation like editing, gaming, rendering, streaming, etc. There are more alternatives to this processor like core i7 12TH Gen and other AMD CPU’s. In this processor, you got 6 cores, 12 threads, and a boost clock of 4.5GHz. This will play every game at high FPS with a good combination of Graphics card and Ram. You will see no issues in the performance unless there is a bottleneck. So, to avoid that, I will make complete another article on the best compatible Ram, storage, and GPU for this processor. Just let me know in the comment.
